Welcome to my campaign to support NSBE Boston: 2021 INSPIRE STEM Virtual Gala

On March 20, 2021 at 6:30PM EST, NSBE BOSTON Professionals (National Society of Black Engineers) will host its first Virtual Gala on the theme "Re-envision STEM for the future".

We have an ambitious goal of $50,000 to support our student scholarships and youth STEM programs for Black students. Your support is crucial to our efforts to provide resources and access for young Black students navigating this unprecedented and challenging year.

$50, 75, 100 -- our suggested minimum pledges in support of STEM programs
$250 (Impact) funds pledged to double the impact of STEM at NSBE college chapters
$500 (STEM Helpers) funds laptop purchase for 1 student.
$1,000 (Youth STEM Program Supporter) funds 1 monthly youth STEM event.
$2,000 (NSBE Boston Scholarship Supporter) funds 1 scholarship for a college student.

This year’s virtual event will benefit NSBE Boston's year-round Youth STEM (science, technology, engineering & math) initiatives and also honor the accomplishments of Black leaders who are inspiring a generation of future black innovators.

Honorees include Kenn Turner, President & CEO, Mass Life Sciences Center, Enna Jimenez, Sr. Dir. at IDEEMA, Frederick M. Lowery, Sr. VP at ThermoFisher, Dr. Sara Suliman, Immunologist & Research Scientist at Brigham and Women's/Harvard Medical School and H.G. Chissell, Founder & CEO of Advanced Energy Group. They join prominent leaders previously honored, such as Corey Thomas (CEO & Chairman of Rapid7) and US Coast Guard Captain Zeita Merchant

$50,000 in scholarships will be awarded to deserving Black students. Thank you to some of our scholarship underwriters - Liberty Mutual, Repare Rx and Amgen.

The INSPIRE STEM Gala is organized by NSBE Boston Professionals with the generous support of our members, corporate partners and community of givers. Our vision is to continue to expand opportunities for Black students and professionals, and also increase access to STEM resources in Boston's under-served communities.

The one-hour virtual event will feature both live and pre-recorded content, as well as a few surprises you won’t want to miss.
